Towne Automotive Group

Our first dealership, Towne Lincoln–Mercury, was started by Frank Downing in June 1969 in a small strip plaza, just south of the current Orchard Park Road location.  Soon after, Mr. Downing built a brand new dealership to house our fast growing operation.  Over the years, we have added franchises and built new buildings to accommodate them.  In 1978 we acquired the Mazda franchise, 1979 BMW, 1981 AMC (now Jeep), 1987 Suzuki (Sold in 1998), and in 1988 we assumed ownership of Orchard Park Ford and renamed it Towne Ford.  In January 1997, we added the Isuzu franchise and relocated our Jeep operations to Hamburg, also adding Chrysler – Plymouth (now Chrysler) to our franchises.  In February of 1997, we began operating our used car supercenter, Auto Choice, at Southwestern Blvd. and Milestrip Road next to Towne Ford.  In 1999 we added the Hyundai Franchise, in 2001 we built a state-of-the-art building and relocated the BMW franchise to Williamsville and in 2002 added the Mini franchise.  We also operate Orchard Park Leasing. 

We are proud to say the reason we were able to expand and experience such rapid growth was largely due to our quality conscious and highly productive work force.  Towne believes that the way to continue to be successful is for all of us to work together as a team in sales, service, parts, body, detail, and administration.
